What's New Pussycat? Whoa-Whoa...

OK, love Tom Jones and now I can't get this song out of my head!!!
Found a You Tube video with him singing it and it is sooooo funny!
He is so young (saw a picture of him the other day, sure looks old)
 :(

OK, now on to my little Pussy Cat which I'm sure is the one Tom Jones was singing about...
Sure had trouble getting this card where I wanted it to be, but I'm pretty pleased with the end result. I layered the free image from Faith at Designed 2 Delight (hurry, you have until Thursday to grab it too!) over the gate image from Inktegrity. Not too happy with my copic coloring but did try a technique that my mentor Shirley showed me a couple weeks ago to add texture. Using a swatch of blue jean fabric I inked it with the black marker and dabbed it on the stonework. Then I added glitz  with yellow stickles on the moon and a big orange bow for the cat!
[Now I'm listening to it's Not Unusual by Tom Jones, now a duet with Stevie Wonder]

How about a few challenges?
Craft Us Crazy - fall colors and favorite embellishments [stickles and bling]
Saturday Challenge - Colors of autumn
Stamp Something - September digi challenge
[now it's Tom Jones and Marie Osmond, uhhhh?]
Designed 2 Delight - free Falloween image

If you'll excuse me, I need to do some dancing around the room now!

Halloween Twins

Well, they have already celebrated Halloween at my school (parent conferences this week, Friday off) and this will probably be my last Halloween card. So...I made it count and am entering in several challenges.

Trick or Treat Brownie!

I like using neutral CS. Reminds me of all the flavors of cappuccino and that goes great with brownies!

Ahhh, back to the card...

The front...

The inside...

If you checked out my blog post yesterday, you would notice that I used an image from the same set, SU! Greeting Card Kids. It reminds me of the Campbell Soup Kids!
I was inspired by the following challenges...

Color and Inspiration Challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge noticed the changing seasons and to highlight fall colors.
Meljens Designs also likes autumn colors this week
Our Creative Corner ask for Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Soft suede, and Espresso Brown
Paper Play likes Coffee and Cream colors - YUM!
Stamp Challenge like Fall colors
Craftalicious is also looking for Fall Colors
Moxie Fab World had a gorgeous afghan for inspiration
4 Crafty Chicks is also celebrating Fall
By the Cute and Girly is wanting an Indian Summer
Crafty Creations is keeping their eyes open for Autumn
Stamps R Us is celebrating Halloween

The following challenges inspired the embellishment:
The Alphabet Challenge is V for Vintage
Sentimental Sunday wants to see dimension and the sentiment is on the inside
Stampin' B's Design Team wants paper piercing
Stampin' Vacation says "No-No" to sparkle
One Stitch At A Time said, "Anything Goes!"
Joan's Garden Creations gave a recipe of Color - Brown and Tan, Embellishment - Buttons, 3 Layers (preferably Nesties), Fall Flower
Catch the Bug Blog wanted 3-D Halloween, look close, the girl is popped up on the pumpkin and the mat is also
Speedy the Cat (Mark's Finest Papers) is searching for a pumpkin

The sketch I used is from Pals Paper Arts

Well, for all those challenges celebrating Autumn, thanks for the cloudy/rainy day in the Midwest.
But this coming week looks like the days will be crisp with clear sunny days!

5 Cards posted for 365 Cards, please keep scrolling, or is it strolling down?

This card is for Tuesday, September 22, 2009 Day 206 - Tuesday Triplets. The challenge is to make 3 of everything you put on the card except for the sentiment. OK I'm a reader that skims the text so I thought it had to be only one thing in triplet form. That is, until I sent a preview to my DD and she informed I would need 3 sets of leaves! Good thing she is a better reader than me! So 24 hours later I finished the card (it was just too-too late that night). The stamped images are from Flourishes Strawberries set.

This card is for Wednesday, September 23, 2009 Day 207 - DIY: Patterned Paper , challenging us to make our own background paper. I used a wax paper resist technique that I have done before. (You can see it here.) And this is a link to Gina K stamp TV that shows you how to do to make it. or you can find it at Splitcoast Resources. Basically, wad up wax paper, smooth it out, place between 2 glossy CS, dust off your iron (place paper on bottom and top to protect iron) and iron away. Then brayer on color. I've seen this done with embossing folders too.I'm disappointed how this picture turned out, the resist piece is really a nice shade of green and goes so well with the dusty durango and animal theme. It is the most creative background I like to make. ps I made this the night before Pam challenged us with a jungle theme. We must have been on the same wave length! LOL

This card is for Thursday, September 24, 2009 Day 208 - Challenge Combo and Saturday, September 26, 2009 OCC Challenge - Monochromatic Mania. For 365 we were to look through June, July and August and pick one challenge from each to combine on one card. Well, I have noticed some over achievers on this challenge (LOL) but it's not me today! I picked only picked 4: Day 180 - to go Vintage,
Day 149 - Try a Technique: Sponging, Day 127 - the Sunday Sketch, and Day 114 - Lovin' Lavender! Which I just had to do with the August card kit from Mackenzie Mae Designs (Thanks Pam!) for being the August winner at 365 Cards! So exciting and what a wonderful additional supply to my card making supplies. You can see how beautiful it is...

This card is for Friday, September 25, 2009 Day 209 - It's a Jungle Out There. A jungle theme! I considered using the other card I made 'Wild Thing' wax paper resist for this challenge since it was already made but decided I needed it for the DIY DP since I really couldn't think of anything better to do. So using the same stamp set, IngueBoutique - Safari, I made another jungle theme card for the week.

This is for today's challenge, Saturday, September 26, 2009 Day 210 - Try a Technique - Sanding. I pulled out a sheet of Core'dinations black CS, a fiskars embossing plate, MS jack-o-lantern punch, tag punch, MS fence punch, ribbon, buttons, cuttlebug letters, kraft CS and a generic dark brown CS to make a Halloween theme card.

That's all for today Folks! Need to rest, have a sore throat and my DH says I look like the stuff in the pasture and I should go back to bed! To late for that, he'll expect dinner in 1 hour! Have a great and safe week-end...
