Vintage Peaceful Wishes!

Whew, I made it! A whole week of cards at 365 Cards.  For the last challenge we are to take all the 'ingredients' by the DT members and put it together into one card. If I must say so myself, this is one recipe I have followed! I used all Stampin' Up! materials including a very old stamp set, Peaceful Wishes. The DP is new, 'Deck the Halls'. Oh the only item not SU! is the star sticker. Had to have a dimensional sticker for the recipe. Thought about making my own but that was just too much work! Hope you like!

This is being submitted to 365 Cards Day 272, Vintage Recipe. The only ingredient that might be hard to spot is the sewing. I used gold metallic thread and hand stitched in two opposing corners. You may need to enlarge the pic to see it.

The other challenge I am entering this in is CCEE Stampers to use lace.

Lace flowers are a whole lot easier and faster to make than to hand crochet them!

Thanks for your time and stopping by!

A Fresh Cut Vintage Christmas...

2nd to the last card for the wild and crazy week of 365 Cards Vintage Blog Hop with amazing Graphic 45 giveaways by the ever awesome Gloria! It sure has motivated me to pull out some unused paper, embellishments and gear to get my mojo going to make some Christmas cards. For this card I used the Fresh Cut Stationary from SU! that I have probably only used once. I used the red and cream color combo again but with the addition of brown instead of green.  Have a look...

The challenge for Day 271 is Vintage plus Lace .
I had only planned on adding the strip of lace down the middle but it ended up being covered up! That forced me into making a creative decision, which was to make a lace flower and use a Build a Brad for the center of it.
Love those brads! I also used the sketch from
just posted today.
Be back later with the last card for the Vintage Blog Hop at 365 Cards!

Purple Vintage...

and sticker embellishments! Now the challenge for 365 Cards, Day 270 asked for vintage plus a dimensional sticker, well, I used 4 stickers. That must mean I get 3 more entries for this card! WOWZER!  Just kidding Pam, I know the rules and play by them all the time! I have not been influenced by those that don't follow, I mean those that bend the rules...
I followed the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches for this week.
That's all for now. Going to Wally World to get groceries, we must be crazy!

Vintage Poinsettia...

Looks like I'm stuck in the color scheme of cream, green and red!  "It's OK,"  I tell myself, "I like it!" Really good vintage color scheme and I'm going to use the Christmas cards I'm making this week to send to the other buildings in my school district (it's a tradition!)  I've had this poinsettia stamp forever, never inked it, so I need to send a  big "THANK YOU" to Pam and her Designers for motivating me to dust off my gear and supplies...
I colored the poinsettia with color pencils / OMS and my distressing
is done with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Tattered Rose.

and
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Vintage Week, 365 Cards, Days 267 and 268!

Didn't have a stickpin, so I used a large upholstery needle and glued beads on it.

The front...
The Inside...
Another easy Christmas card to reproduce in multiples. Made with all SU!

Thanks for stopping by, hopefully I can make 2 more tomorrow for the 365 Cards Vintage Blog Hop!

It's A Bird! It's a Plane! It's a Snowman!

OK...I'm from the old school (which means I'm old!) But I still like to call them snowmen! And this is a pretty cute one too. I've seen this style in several places and have always wanted to make it, well, Pam's sketch at 365 Cards, Super Sketchy Sunday, Day 265 and the beginning of a fantastic vintage Blog Hop inspired me to go for it! I couldn't help but look at the sketch and see a snowman looking up at me. Plus I wanted to use the little white ball trim that I bought with my DD, Kim at Salt Lake City this summer. I am entering this in One Stop Craft Challenge wanting any kind of snow person we could conjure up.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to enter more challenges this week at 365 Cards Vintage Hop, be sure to check out the prize winnings, it's awesome!   SAM

Window with a View...

365 Cards, Day 262, Setting a Scene sounded like fun...my DD, Kim, is the designer for this challenge...she said, "MOM, DO IT!"  So I did (I always do what she tells me to do [cough, cough].  Knew what I wanted to do but it took several attempts to get it there. So this is what I ended up with...

Kim and I had shopped at Garden Ridge a couple years ago and found a huge 'getting rid of all card making supplies' sale. We both bought the window front panel you see. I found mine, she didn't! The tree inside is origami made with the whole set of nestie scallop squares. It could be more 3-D, but I flattened them by embossing with the dotted Swiss cuttlebug folder. If you enlarge the front picture you'll be able to see the teeny, tiny bumps!  I used cardboard for the back, figured I needed something heavier than card stock, and wrapped it with the DP to cover the edges.

I'm entering this bigger than normal sized card in the following challenges:

1. 365 Cards, Day 262 - window card, setting a scene
2. If the Shoe Fits, Scrap It - tickle me with tinsel, make it shine!

Kaela Angel and a New/Old Technique

Pam, the fearless leader at 365 Cards, is reliving her childhood and decided to bring back an art technique she learned in, well, probably Kindergarten! I know, because I am a past Kindergarten teacher and my students loved blowing paint around the paper.  Pam calls it "Blow Art". I call it, "Give the kids something to do so they'll be short of breath and therefore, QUIET!"

I combined "Blow Art" challenge and Faith's Kaela Angel at Designed 2 Delight on this card because my daughter Kim is a design team member on both challenges.

It's hard to see in the picture, you may need to enlarge it, but the background is made first, by clear embossing snowflakes on glossy card stock, then using the stone technique (reinkers dabbed with an alcohol soaked cotton ball), next I used the "Blow Art" technique, and finally embossed it with a snowflake cuttlebug folder.

I am entering this in several challenges:

Day 255, 365 Cards - Blow Art
ABC Challenge - H is for Holiday
A Spoonful of Sugar - Snowflakes
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - A Berry Color Palette
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Winter Theme with optional snowflakes

Double Delight Challenge - use Kaela Angel and make it sparkle
For Fun Challenge - to dry emboss
Incy Wincy Designs - the sketch

Little Red Wagon - use 3 of something, the snowflakes
Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge - snowflakes
Paper Pretties - embossing
I Did It Creations - holiday color mix up - I used Easter pastel colors
Stamping Vacation - get Music in your challenge, mine is, I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - It's all about snowflakes
There's Magic In the Air - Non traditional holiday colors (Hi, Nina!)
The Shabby Tea Room - Lavender and lace

Anything Challenge - emboss it

Whew - that's about all for now! Thanks for sharing your time with me...
