Simple Pleasures Birthday Tin

"Simple Pleasures" Digi by Nina at There's Magic In the Air with Paper Cupcakes led to this Birthday Tin.
I'm trying to cut back on sweets so I don't have any candy to fill it with, but the tin is big enough that it could be filled with little girls cutesy things, such as, beads, bangles, kiddy make-up etc. OR maybe I could fill it with big girl things for my daughter Kim - Living in Paradise. Uhmmm, she would probably want Stamping Stuff!

I am entering this project in the following challenges:
There's Magic In the Air - use Simple Pleasures digi, birthday theme and anything but a card
Stamp Something - with a Birthday Recipe:
some designer paper, a ribbon, a bow, and a tag
Challenge Up Your Life - to recycle, the tag and tin are being recycled, or is it, regifted?

Flowers and Coffee Make Me Smile!

3 Cards posted, please scroll down to see deets and challenges, along with pics of cards!

Notice the first picture, the hammer and flower...that's what I used to make my first card...
HAMMERED FLOWER...and this is what I got!
The flower is a Dianthus from my flower bed. I picked the petals off 'carefully' and laid them front side down on a piece of natural white SU! card stock. I placed a sticky tag over it to keep petals in place and then gently hammered over the petals. I repeated it with the leaves from the same plant but they didn't work quite as well as I would have liked. I also played with rose petals which worked well and was able to make a butterfly shape with them. Then I tried my African Violet petals and that did not work at all.
Note: after hammering you will need to brush of the remainder of what is left of the petal, CS will be wet, so lay it flat and let it dry, it will tend to curl, so DS tape it securely

And this is the inside of the card. I used the oval cutout from the front of the card.
I am entering in the following challenges:
(I have been having Internet connection problems this week, swore at my Internet service, then figured out it was my computer [I hope] and fixed it myself. Now we'll see how this works!  Point being, I missed a couple deadlines, but I'm listing them anyway as they were my inspirations for this card)

2. Creative Card Crew pink and green
3. ABC Challenge - V is for Vintage

COFFEE SPIN!
The next card is one that I knew I had to do as soon as I saw the sketch 365 Cards, Day 84, Super Sketchy Sunday.  I  bought the Rustic Stack (DCWV) some time ago just because of this one piece of Pattern Paper. When I drink tooooo much coffee, I swear this is how my whole body feels! Then I just spin and spin and get nothing done!
This is what the 'inside' looks like on this easel card.

I am entering this in the following challenges, and if I am tooooo late to enter some challenges, I still want to give credit where credit is due!

1. ColourQ   colors: Certainly Celery, Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, + kraft
2. Crafty Creations Challenge     use favorite stamp, mmmm, smell the coffee!

6. Allsorts Challenge    a tag
8. Rosiedees  Challenge easel card
9. 365 Cards, Day 84, Super Sketchy Sunday.

And the last card is: A SIMPLE SMILE!

Since I have a table that I use in a word document, I could refer to it and make another card while I blamed others for my Internet woes! This card is inspired by the following challenges:

1. 365 Cards, Day 86   KIS(S) Keep it simple, stupid!
Although some 'thinks' it means Keep it simple, sweetie!
2. Corrosive Challenge  to keep it clean and simple
3. Cute Card Thursday  no designer paper
4. Simplicity by Late Blossom  CAS card with image and sentiment overlapping
5. Stampin' Royality  colors,  Rich Razzelberry, Certainly Celery, and Pretty in Pink

That's all for today.
Off to mow (wasn't it just yesterday!) and hopefully get some of the housework done.
I know KL, but if I keep saying it I will eventually do it!

ASIAN INSPIRED ZENTANGLE

What fun! Splitcoast has a challenge this week "Ways to Use It" and it inspired us to 'doodle', which is what I called it in all of my bored moments, only now it has a new name, 'Zentangle'.  Don't think I cheated too much, I used the All a Flutter stamp from SU! and stamped it twice. Then I 'doodled' around the stamped images with inspiration from the other entries. Fun and different, give it try!

This is the front...

And this is the inside...

I am also entering this in the following challenges that greatly assisted me in pulling this card together...

1. Creaetalicious Challenge - Asian Theme (red, black and the zentangle drawing)
2. Mark's Finest Papers - use an animal (butterfly)
3. Raise the Bar - It's All About the Bag (I was inspired by DT Sparkle's bag)
4. Res-Q-Challenge - Time for an X-Ray (OK, honestly, I didn't see the DT card until I had
already decided to do a Zentangle!)

10. ABC  Challenge - '"U" - unused stash, I have had the black/white brads for-ever and the ribbon too! Just needed the right challenge!
11. The Fab & Funky - to make your own embellishment, the flower
12. Lots To Do Challenge - Flourish and swirls, hope my hand drawn ones count!
13. Paper Take Weekly - Embellish with flowers
14. Color Chef Challenge - Bamboo, Red, Black (sorry it's not a light red, but it could be darker?!)
15. If the Shoe Fits - Colors Black, Red, Khaki
16. Pile It On - get out of the box,  I went way out on this one!
17. Splitcoast, Ways to Use It challenge - Zentangle
18. 365 Cards Day 80 - Keep it To Yourself, Friendship (sentiment needs to be on inside) and the main reason I made this card is to support my DD, Kim, on her 2nd career as a DT member at 365 Cards!

And here's the funny part of this card. This is what it looked like last night right before I went to bed!

I really shouldn't try making cards after 9 PM!
Have a great day - off to get some yard work done.

Theres Magic in the Air - A CAS card with Nina's image, "Softly Afloat"
365 Cards, Day 77 - Super Sketchy Sunday
Paper Play Challenge - brown + 'what' (I hope kraft counts as brown, as in brown paper bag?)

Hand Full of Stamps - get your shine on - I used pearls
Gingersnap Creations CS 51 - botanical

Creative Inspirations #34 - punches and die cuts.

An Apple A Day!

To support my wonder DD - Kim - and her design work for Wednesday challenges at 365 Cards, I made this card to fit the challenge
Tri-Color, Day #73. I really wanted to just make the card with the red/white scheme to keep it in the CAS category, but oh no, I need to add 2 more colors to make it TRI color! After trying numerous combinations of blue, red, yellow, green, I decided to keep the 2 extra colors to a minimum. Green for the leaf and yellow on the brad. Still a CAS!

I used the sketch from
that is a perfect fit for
the vision I
had for this card.

I kept the inside simple,
mostly because I really
couldn't decide on a
purpose for it - so it
became a simple note card.

Little Red Wagon wanted brads.
Wild Flower Patch asked for Ribbon, Sparkle and Demension.
Res-Q Challenge asked for Super Foods! Apple must be good, it keeps the Dr. away!
The challenge at Totally Gorjuss is to go round and round, or use circles.
Creative Belli Challenge  asked for hole punches, did so, for the brad

Another challenge I am entering this card in is Charisma Cardz to feature a sweet treat!
Although I'm not entering the following project in Charisma Cardz I wanted to share it with you in case you need an easy gift.

To the left are candy bar wrappers I made for staff during our required MAP (Missouri Assessment Program) this year. I took an old Missouri Map and cut it up for the wrapper part. The stop sign sentiment was generated on the computer.

That's all for now - have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
