HUG A BUG!

Another adorable image from Designed 2 Delight by Faith. Also inspired by Card Ideas to name a new holiday. As a school counselor I teach my elementary students that 12 hugs a day keep you Happy and Healthy! It is a proven fact, so each class lesson starts with us giving ourselves 12 hugs with #12 being a Bear Hug! (we don't hug each other because of that other little bugs called 'head lice' LOL!)

So my new holiday is
HUG A BUG DAY!

I would like to thank Hannah at 365 Cards, Day 31 to use poetry.
I 'grabbed' the verse she used today for her DT card. Thanks Hannah!

Sorry about the bad picture, a little dark this time of night in the house...
I am entering this in Card Ideas and in Designed 2 Delight to use the above image, Ladybug Bloom.

Thanks for stopping by!  SAM

Bug Me Anytime!

Love this sentiment. Living my life as a school counselor I have people confiding in me about issues they have, usually about their children. They always apologize for bothering me and really it doesn't bother me at all. So the saying "Bug me anytime!" feels so appropriate. Maybe I'll carry this card with me and give it to the next person who apologizes! I combined the freebie "Caught A Bug" set from Faith's Designed 2 Delight and one of the first SU! stamps I bought a couple years ago. I had it in my head to use transparency film to make a 'jar window' in the front and expand on the lady bugs on the inside. Sometimes executing my ideas is not so easy...

This is the front...

and this is the inside...

I am entering this buggy card in the following challenges...

Designed 2 Delight to use this set so I can get a free digi next Friday!

Off the Wall Craftiness - to use the following color combo

Paper Cutz Challenge - is open to anything goes
Sugar Creek Hallow - is an anniversary, anything goes
Craft Challenge - is paper piecing, just did a little, that would be the cork stopper on the jar.

I hoped I didn't 'BUG' you too much today ~ Tee Hee!
Have a great rest of the week-end!

Butterfly Thanks

Quick card for today after I woke up at 3am with a huge sore lump in my throat - tonsils? Never had that problem before. But after numbing it with caffeine it does feel better. No temp Kimberly (my DD) so I will go to work today. After all, it is Principal's Day and we are all dressing with a suit coat and tie. I'm borrowing a tie, if you knew my DH you would know why! Well, after all that caffeine, this is what I came up with...

I am entering this card in the following 3 challenges ~

Sketch Frenzy Friday - using the following sketch...

Pals Paper Arts - using the following colors...

Speaking of Spring, storm warnings are out for tonight, including tornado warnings north of us. Hey Kim, remember, I won't be in the recliner this time...I'll be asleep in bed! Better get this posted before it hits...

Gratitude for a Friend!

Quick card today to join in with my DD DT card at 365 Cards! Told her I would copy her card and I did, well, sort of. I did the same fold technique from Splitcoast Stampers Triangle Trifold but I used Double Sided heavy paper stock, different colors, different image, used a paper clip and folded mine a little different to get the 2 different colors on the front. Hmmm, guess I was inspired by her card and went from there would be a better way to put it!

365 Cards, Day 353 - Sketch
4 Crafty Chicks - use a fairy, angel or what I chose, a butterfly
Allsorts Challenge - inspired by nature
Craft Your Passion - use pink, I went for subtle, soft pink
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - SOS, Someone Special, this is for a friend I work with
The Saturday Challenge - fancy folds

Thanks for stopping by on this Sunny Sunday, wow, it feels good to say that!

'OWL' BE LATE FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY!

How's that for a title? My dear daughter Kimmy's birthday was this past Thursday, Feb. 10. I didn't get a card made until today, 2 days too late...but it'll have a gift in it and she can go shopping with it...so I hope I'm not too bad of a mommy. Happy Birthday Kimmy! If it makes you feel better, I thought about those labor pains all day! Here's her card, now I just have to get it in the mail!

A close up of the dimensional part of it. Love this style, called a bendy fold card and I found the toot at Lady and the Stamp and it's free! Gotta love free! She also has a toot for a 'box' card that is really neat. Both can be found at the top right column.

Now it wouldn't be a good card for Kim if I didn't enter it in some challenges, so here are some inspiring inspirations....

By the Cute and Girly - Red + any other color on your project
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Crazy 4 Challenges - hearts
Critter Challenge - a critter/animal image
Cute Card Thursday - hearts and flowers
Fab 'n Funky - tempting texture, the bling, the ribbon the embossed (crochet) vest and flowers
For Fun Challenge - include hearts
Inspirational Card Sketches - OK, going out on a limb here, but my card folds look like the stacked layers to me!
Oldie by Goodie - add a heart, my oldie is the DP from SU!, actually the backside of last year's Halloween paper
Paper Play Challenge - hearts and flowers but not valentine, it's a B-Day card!
Paper Take Weekly - hearts
Day 347 at 365 Cards - to think in thirds
Catch the Bug Challenge - to use a differrent kind of fold for a card
Well, I guess I'll go with "It's better late than never!" Sorry KL, I'll come visit and do your laundry and housecleaning to make up for it!
Just in case you don't know, she lives in Hawaii!

Here's to many more birthdays for Kim and I won't tell how old she is!
