The first card is for Wednesday, August 5, 2009 Day 158 - What's Your Sign? at 365 cards. I was going to make a sign and 'stick' it in some 'picture' and that just sounded like too much work! Then I remembered my Stampendous Happy B-Day stamp and decided to use it since it hasn't been inked yet. Plus, my daughter has made cards with this stamp and they are so cute! I tried to color it with Prisma pencils and sponge shading like she does, but she is and always will be better at coloring than I am! Here is as card she made with the Thinking of U stamp and below is my version...
The next card, Having a RRRUFF day? is for Thursday, August 6, 2009 Day 159 - Setting the Scene - Indoors at 365 Cards. I knew I wanted to use the chair from SU! Funky Favorites, a really, really old set. I bought it on E-Bay because I liked the Mary Engelbreit look of it. That was a while back and I am now just using it for the first time!
I Versamarked the chair on black and the dog on So Saffron and then clear embossed. That way I was able to get the color of the stamps without using different colors of ink or embossing powder. The chair flowers and dog are colored with gel pens. I found the idea for the room from Glittergal on Splitcoast and then I saw Carolyn's card this morning. Honestly Carolyn, I made this card last night before I saw yours! LOL
I added the little rug for the pooch by embossing 3 consecutive Nesties oval shapes and then cutting it out with a Nestie oval scallop . The dog and sentiment are from Clear Stamps, DOGS. The paper and card stock are all SU!
This was a fun card to make. I think I will send it to my gran-puppy Malie. It reminds me of her being home alone all day while Kim works so hard. Oh please, I must stop, my heart is just sobbing for poor Malie! (I can just hear Kim saying, "Oh please, Mother!") I know she has to work, it's one of those hard realities of life!
Stay cool this week-end, it will be hot in the Midwest, turn on the air, grab a chair, a good book and relax!

Hey you - what a cute scene! Love that pup on the rug!!! How funny that you and Carolyn both did 'corner' rooms! I just posted MY card, and then came to look at YOUR card - lol - I honestly didn't see YOUR post until after I had put a bird picture on the wall on MY post! Tee hee.....it just goes to show that great minds really DO think alike! Isn't this just too much fun? You don't REALLY wanna go back to work next week, do you? Love it, girl!!!
What an adorable little doggy card!
Just perfect!!
Peace and Luv,
Jeannie
Such a great card! You've got your "room" looking more realistic than I was able to get mine! I love the rug you did under the dog! So cute! ~~Pam http://cardcrazy.etsy.com
okay, a-dorable...love them both but your indoor scene card is simply darling!
Oh SAM... they're so cute. You found the perfect stamp for the sign, didn't you! And your doggie on a rug is adorable! (and what a cute sentiment!) Your room is far more detailed than mine (the thought of furniture terrified me) and yours doesn't have shiny poo. LOLLL Great cards.
~ Carolyn
WOW! The chair was done with a stamp! My goodness! I need to learn the steps that you provided. I am just getting into stamps but I didn't know you could do all of that! Amazing work!
